FAQ: Family Feud categories

Here are answers to common questions about Family Feud categories.

What are Family Feud questions?

Family Feud questions are prompts used to play the game show game. These questions are in a survey format. Typically, the game masters poll an audience of 100 respondents and assign point values based on how many people answered the same way.

If playing at home or at work, then you can use questions with pre-assigned values, assign points based on percentages, or make up the point values for each question.

How do you play Family Feud?

To play Family Feud, first split the group into teams. At the start of each round, have a representative from each team step up to the buzzer. Then, read the first question. The first player to buzz in gets to answer the question. If the player answers with the top question, then their team gets to choose whether or not to play first or pass. If the player does not have the answer, then the other team has a chance to steal. A team guesses answers one by one until all answers are on the board, or until they have struck out three times. Game masters keep track of the scores, and the higher scoring team goes on to play final Family Feud.
